Elderflower Syrup

Elderflower Syrup

A sweet and floral syrup perfect for spring cocktails.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of fresh elderflower heads
  • 4 cups of water
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 orange, sliced

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the elderflower heads gently to remove any insects or debris.
  2. In a large pot, combine water, sugar, lemon slices, and orange slices. Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat and add the elderflower heads. Cover and let steep for 24 hours.
  4. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
  5. Pour the syrup into sterilized bottles and store in the refrigerator. It will keep for several weeks.
