Elderflower Syrup
A sweet and floral syrup perfect for spring cocktails.
🥄
Ingredients
2 cups of fresh elderflower heads
4 cups of water
3 cups of sugar
1 lemon, sliced
1 orange, sliced
📝
Instructions
1
Rinse the elderflower heads gently to remove any insects or debris.
2
In a large pot, combine water, sugar, lemon slices, and orange slices. Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
3
Remove from heat and add the elderflower heads. Cover and let steep for 24 hours.
4
Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
5
Pour the syrup into sterilized bottles and store in the refrigerator. It will keep for several weeks.
