Autumn Pumpkin Toddy

A warm and comforting cocktail perfect for chilly autumn evenings.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz bourbon infused with pumpkin spices
  • 1 oz pumpkin syrup
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • Hot water
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish
  • Star anise, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. To make the pumpkin spice-infused bourbon, combine 1 cup of bourbon with 1 tsp each of ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger in a jar. Let it sit for at least 24 hours, shaking occasionally.
  2. To make the pumpkin syrup, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water, and 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Strain and let cool.
  3. In a mug, combine the infused bourbon, pumpkin syrup, and lemon juice.
  4. Top with hot water and stir gently.
  5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a star anise.
